The Salish Sea is a system of ocean waterways spanning between the south-western tip of B.C. to the north-western tip of Washington State. The Salish Sea contains the Straight of Juan de Fuca, Straight of Georgia, Puget Sound and all of the connecting channels.
Salish Sea Conservation is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. Established in 2013 with the original directors and officers consisting of Whatcom County college and university students. We are a relatively new organization with a small budget. A major aspect of Salish Sea Conservation is making photo/video documentation and removal of garbage along the shoreline of the Salish Sea, as well as performing as many water quality tests as we are able within our budget restrictions. The support vessel “Dragonfly” is how we are able to accomplish our mission.
